Working Together for the Stability of Hungary’s Energy Supply

Due to the shutdown of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant’s electricity production and the extraordinary situation that has developed in the national electricity system, the government has called on domestic companies and the population to conserve energy. Joining this call, we, the Hungarian companies of BPCE Equipment Solutions – BPCE Equipment Finance Zrt. and BPC Equipment Solutions Kft. – are implementing immediate measures to reduce our energy consumption.

Our goal is to contribute to reducing the load on the Hungarian electricity system through more conscious organization of our own operations, while continuing to ensure uninterrupted service to our clients and management of ongoing financing transactions.

As part of our measures, we are reducing lighting and cooling in our offices, and switching off unnecessary electrical equipment in unused rooms. At the end of the workday, we completely shut down and, where possible, disconnect computers, monitors, printers, kitchen appliances, and other office equipment from power, thereby avoiding unnecessary energy consumption from standby mode.

We ask our colleagues to use air conditioning equipment consciously, avoid artificial lighting when natural light is available, and keep only devices actually necessary for work switched on. In organizing our work, we strive to minimize the need for simultaneous cooling, lighting, and power supply of multiple rooms. We recommend reducing vehicle use, using public transport instead, and charging electric vehicles outside peak hours.

We also consider it important that our joint efforts do not end at the office door. Our employees’ contributions at home can also meaningfully help reduce national energy consumption. Therefore, we encourage our colleagues to avoid unnecessary energy use in their own households as well, especially during periods of highest network load.

We continuously monitor our energy consumption and will implement additional consumption reduction measures if necessary. We believe that as a company, as employees, and as private individuals, we all bear responsibility for the security of our common energy supply. Our individual steps add up, so everyone’s contribution matters.
